How you spend thousands of pounds on a design only to learn that it doesn’t meet you budget? We don’t waste your time or money, we ensure at Stage 2 that the proposed design meets your budget and requirements before we start Stage 3. At early stages of the project we provide a true value engineering buy evaluating the most appropriate servicing options to meet the results of the building physics engineering phase. This involve a feasibility of the system, scope, cost plan and life cycle analysis, enabling the project team to agree on the solution and budget before stage 3 design. This saves time and money in the design and tender stage, and provides greater cost certainty. Ensuring that what is design gets delivered.

We believe in keeping designs straight forward, but this does not mean we don’t do complex projects, quite the opposite. It means making designs as simple as they possibility can be, ensuring simpler operation and useability.

We believe in truly sustainable buildings, ones that have a balance between indoor environment, energy consumption and cost. We take a Building Physics led approach to design which enables us to prototype buildings in a virtual space. By predicting the performance of buildings at the earliest stage of design we are able to balance these three elements of design with the project brief.

The Yonder Consulting process starts with the first principles of building design, form and function to minimise the inherent energy demand of the building while enhancing the internal comfort. We refer to this stage as the Building Physics element of our design process, focusing on free float analysis of the building, which leads into the Building Services design.

Once the form of the building has been agreed with the project team we move into the Building Services stage of our design process. Our philosophy is to provide a cost effective and energy efficient design which delivers occupant comfort.

Building Performance combines the Building Physics and Building Services elements of the design process to assess the building performance against the project brief. The Building Performance review is the culmination of the design process and involves a full review of the design with the project team against the project goals and budget.

Once the building design has been agreed and the project is on site, Yonder Consulting provide a comprehensive Site Monitoring role to ensure that the building services are installed and commission to deliver the design intent and project goals.

Yonder Consulting consider Aftercare to be as important as any other element in the design process, handover to occupants, occupant review and on site in use monitoring are key to ensuring the building operates as intended and as efficiently as possible, and as a learning process for future projects.
